Following the success of last few years, we are pleased to announce to members the opportunity to improve their work by having the chance again to participate in the Guilds mentoring scheme.

How does it work?

The idea is for you to pick from one of our volunteer mentors in the field you most want to improve on. You will then be able to ask questions to help overcome any difficulties you are having and also submit images of your work for constructive criticism.

The volunteers all have Guild qualifications or at least one credit, with lots of experience to help in your endeavours to improve your work. Your mentor will be taking time out their day to respond to your emails and queries, so please be respectful of that when getting in touch. We recommend the initial mentoring to last one year.

The system will work on a first come first served basis. When a mentor has taken up their maximum number of proteges, they will become “fully booked” and you may have to try and choose someone else. We expect the places to go quite quickly, so best not to delay.

If you secure a mentor, please get in touch with them by email (unless otherwise indicated) within 5 days and introduce yourselves, indicating which areas you would like to improve upon and take it from there. If you do not get in touch with them after 5 days, your place may be given to someone else if you do not get in touch.

Please take a note of your mentor’s email address or phone number when registering. We will also be passing on your details to your mentor.

Please click to Register>> Guild Mentoring Scheme 2025  << This will direct you to our events page, the register button will be at the bottom of the page on the left.

A big thank you to all the volunteer mentors who are making this possible!

Regards

Steve Smith
