  • Will the Guild help me to start a career in Taxidermy?
  • Becoming a member of The Guild will introduce you to Taxidermy and bring you into contact with reputable people in the business.
  • Are there any Taxidermy courses?
  • The Guild provides lectures and demonstrations for our members at our conferences and seminars ranging from basic skills to advanced core taxidermy. Private training courses are available so choose a Taxidermist with a proven track record, the Guild can supply phone numbers.
  • I have a mounted animal and want to find out how much it is worth and where I can sell it
  • This is a service the Guild cannot provide. We suggest you contact your local Taxidermist for this and check your Yellow Pages.
  • How do I tan a skin?
  • This is a complex area and you need to obtain some information from a Taxidermy supply company. By searching on the internet, you will be able to find the supply businesses, John Hallet Taxidermy Supplies or Snowdonia Supplies will be able to assist.
  • I am doing a bit of Taxidermy and need some tools/chemicals
  • Supplies can be bought from the UK taxidermy supply companies as well as the big market in the USA. The Guild offers advice on the safe storage, handling and usage of chemicals but this is only open to current members
  • What do I get for my money?
  • The opportunity to attend meetings up to three times a year where lectures and demonstrations are given and where work can be shown for competitions and credit judging. These events are also invaluable for meeting colleagues, discussing problems, sharing information and networking. Members are kept updated on current legislation and receive newsletters and journals with interesting articles and reports. We also offer legal assistance for test cases of taxidermists operating within the current laws. Supporting the Guild through membership will help to ensure that legitimate taxidermy has a future in this country
